Helium Balloon Inflation Guide
To ensure you get the most from your Party Perfect™ barrel, please read the following advice on inflating helium balloons:
How many balloons does a Party Perfect™ barrel inflate?
The Party Perfect™ barrel will inflate around 40 standard 11" latex balloons. This means you will be able to fill a greater number of smaller balloons or fewer if using larger balloons. Remember that any which burst still count!
Don't forget to use helium quality latex balloons, since those intended only for inflation with air are porous enough to let the tiny helium molecules escape and your balloons will quickly deflate.
What can affect the number of balloons I can inflate?
Lots of things - room or outside temperature, atmospheric pressure and inflation technique are all important variables which determine how many balloons a barrel will fill. But most critical of all is the size of the balloon and the degree of inflation. A 10" balloon inflated to 12" uses almost twice as much helium. Over-inflation not only wastes gas, meaning you get fewer balloons out of a barrel, but the balloons are more likely to burst, especially in a warm room. Under-inflation means you will get more balloons out of a barrel but they will float for less time or not at all.
Should I use an inflation sizer?
You can obtain or make a cardboard balloon sizer to help you inflate your balloons to a correct and uniform size. However, initially over-inflating the balloon and then releasing gas until the balloon fits through the template wastes helium and means you will obtain fewer balloons from your Party Perfect™ barrel.
